Last newsletter I was writing, that really soon will be written second part from our news – ministry after moving to Riga and at last here it is:
Ministry for people with disabilities
Before me and Kaspar joined YWAM Riga it was mainly working with artists and musicians, but now addition for these are also ministry for people with disabilities. After moving to Riga we have continued small group ministry and are organising summer camp what will happen already in the end of this month – 29th of June still 5th of July. There are 18 people applied to the camp, but we are still short of staff. The biggest challenge for our camp (what is by the way called “Challenge” 🙂 ) is finances or actually not having enough finances. For a long time we had no money for this event at all, but now we can say, that we have almoust half what we need. God is good! We have given this camp fully to God and if He wants this camp to happen, He will take care for all the rest of finances. If we wouldn’t be so sure about this we would already cancel the camp, even that 18 people
are waiting this eagerly. Please pray for finances for the camp. If you have thought to support our ministry here in Latvia, but haven’t done it yet, then at the moment would be really good opportunity.
YWAM Latvia
In the end of May YWAM Latvia got new leadership team. Same time we also celebrated YWAM Latvia 15th birthday together with many people who have been with YWAM through these years. In our Valdemarpils training centre we celebrated this with small program and with birthday meal. I (Evelyn) helped with registration. Together with children we had approximately 200 people.
YWAM Riga
YWAM Riga and actually YWAM Latvia have gone trough many changes. We have taken 
this year 2008 to look for God guidance how to continue. Together with us there is 7 full-time YWAM staff in Riga and adding for this YWAM friend’s network (mostly musicians). There are concerts, art nights and prayer events happening in YWAM Riga. We are praying for different part of Riga. YWAM do not have centre in Riga (just small office at the moment) and this is reason why we usually meeting in café or in somebody’s home. I have got again some administrative tasks like to analyse a survey etc and Kaspar is helped in different ways as much as he was able during his studies. On Friday Kaspar finished his second year of physiotherapy studies in university and there are (just) three more years to study for him. Life and ministry in Riga is much more different from what we were used in YWAM Valdemarpils and to find the right place takes a bit time. Same time we know that God has put us into right place in right time.
Stockholm
In the beginning of May Kaspar and many other Latvian YWAM-ers spent some days in Stockholm in event called “Jesus Manifestation”. There were approximately 20 000 participants from different confessions and churches, who manifested that they want to live according to the Bible. This event happened in Sweden first time and YWAM Stockholm helped to organise it. YWAM Latvia was there to support Swedish Christians and also to help practically.
Apartment in Riga
We have already lived in our apartment in Riga centre for two month and slowly trying to make it cosier. Still there are many things missing and not all the things are totally ready and working, but slowly we are getting better. As more we are getting to know Riga, as more we understand how right choice God did, when He was choosing this apartment (of course God is always right, but sometimes it is good to see it with your eyes also 🙂 ). Thank you for all the prayers! Sometimes it is almoust physically possible to feel, that somebody is praying for us and we are able to continue our ministry even if we are not perfect.

Tervitusi päikselisest Läti pealinnast!
Eelmises kirjas lubasin, et kirjutan varsti millega tegeleme peale Riiga kolimist. Peale mõningast viivitust on see lõpuks kätte jõudnud:
Töö puuetega inimeste keskel
Riia Noorte Missioonis on suurem osa inimesi seotud muusika ja kunstiga ning tänu meie tulekule lisandus veel üks tööharu – puuetega inimesed. Oleme jätkanud väikegrupitööd puuetega inimestele ning organiseerime suvelaagrit, mis toimub juba sel kuul – 29.juuni kuni 5. juuli. Meil on praegu registreerunud 18 osalejat ning juurde oleme saanud ka personali, kuigi siiani on veel mõned inimesed vajaka. Seega kui soovid osaleda misjonitöös puuetega inimestele ja räägid inglise ja/või vene keelt, siis siin on üks väga konkreetne võimalus. Personali puudusele vaatamata on meie suurimaks probleemiks siiani laagri korraldamiseks vajalikud finantsid – õigemini nende puudus. Oleme saanud mõned lubadused osa raha leidmiseks, kuid praegusel momendil pole see füüsiliselt meie kätte veel jõudnud. Oleme andnud selle laagri täielikult Jumala kätte – kui Tema tahab jõuda läbi laagri puuetega inimesteni, siis Ta ka hoolitseb finantside eest. Kui meil ei oleks nii kindlat veendumust, et Jumal on selle laagri taga, siis isegi et 17 inimest seda laagrit väga innukalt ootavad, oleksime vist juba alla andnud ja laagri ära jätnud. Seega palun palvetage laagri ja selle finantside eest! Kui Sa oled mõelnud, et võib-olla võiks ka Läti misjonitööd mingi summaga toetada, aga pole veel niikaugele jõudnud, siis praegu oleks selleks väga sobiv hetk. 🙂 (Olin selle kirja juba valmis kirjutanud, aga mitte veel ära saatnud, kui sain teada, et on olemas peaaegu pool laagri jaoks vajaminevast summast. Tänu Jumalale!)
Läti Noorte Missioon (lühendan selle NM-iks)
Seoses meie juhi Maris Dzelzi surmaga eelmise aasta lõpus, kinnitati eelmisel nädalal meie uude juhimeeskonda kolm inimest. Sel aastal sai Läti NM 15-aastaseks ning olime kutsunud endised ja praegused NM-ikad Valdemarpilsi sünnipäeva pidama. Koos lastega oli meid kokku umbes 200 inimest ning minu ülesandeks oli püüda külalisi registreerida ning panna neid lühikest ankeeti täitma. Olime ette valmistanud ametliku programmi ning rikkaliku sünnipäevalaua.
Riia Noorte Missioon
Riia NM (tegelikult kogu Läti NM) on teinud läbi mitmeid muutusi ning oleme selle aasta pühendanud sellele, et Jumala tahet otsida. Koos meiega on Riia NM-is praegu 7 täisajalist töölist ja osaajaliste töötajate võrgustik (suurem osa neist on muusikud). Toimuvad kontserdid, kunstiõhtud; kord nädalas koguneme palveks, et palvetada Riia ja selle erinevate mikrorajoonide eest. Kuna Riia NM-il ei ole oma keskust (praegusel momendil on küll väike kontor), siis koguneme kohvikus või kellegi juures kodus. Mina olen saanud jälle endale mõned administratiivsed tööd. Näiteks on minu ülesandeks analüüsida endiste NMikate seas toimepandud uuringut, aidata nullist üles ehitada ametlik Riia NM-i e-maili süsteem jne. Kaspar on oma kiirele ajale ülikoolis (sel reedel lõpetab teise kursuse – kolm on veel jäänud) vaatamata aidanud kaasa nii jõu kui nõuga. Teda on mitmel korral olnud vaja tõlgina, kuna meie seitsme hulgas on vaid kaks lätlast. Elu Riias ning töö Riia Noorte Missioonis on väga erinev sellest, millega olime harjunud Valdemarpilsis ning väljaspool puuetega inimeste tööd, võtab oma koha leidmine veel natuke aega. Sellegipoolest teame, Jumal on meid pannud õigel ajal õigesse kohta.

Selle aasta maipühad veetis Kaspar Stockholmis koos mitmete teiste Läti NM-ikatega “Jeesus-marsi” sarnasel üritusel. Umbes 20 000 inimeseline marss ja Jeesuse avalik kuulutamine toimus Rootsis esimest korda ning sellel osalesid erinevate konfessioonide Piibli tõdede järgi elada tahtvad konservatiivsed kristlased. Lätlased aitasid rahvahulka suunata ning toetasid Rootsi NM-i, mis oli ürituse üks korraldajatest.
Korter Riias
Meie Riia kesklinnas Jumala ime läbi leitud korteris oleme juba kaks kuud tasakesi “nokitsenud” ning püüdnud seda endale koduks luua. Siiani puuduvad meil veel mitmed asjad või pole veel viimast lihvi saanud, kuid me liigume kogu aeg tasakesi edasi. Mida rohkem me Riiat tundma õpime, seda rohkem saame aru, et Jumal tegi meile korteri valikuga parima otsuse (kuigi Jumal ei tee kunagi vigu on siiski vahel hea selles oma silmaga veenduda) Aitäh palvete eest! Vahel on see lausa füüsiliselt tunda, et keegi meie eest palvetab ning et me oleme võimeleised oma vigadele vaatamata teha tööd, milleks Jumal meid siia on kutsunud.
