News December 2018

Finally, or unfortunately, it’s winter. It probably depends on one’s attitude toward the season. However, apart from that, I would like to share some news of our family and, continuing what I told you in our September newsletter, to tell you what God has done till now.

As you might already know, our family got larger this year. Usually a child starts to live in their family from the first day of their life, but in our case, she came on her approximately 900th day. Many ask us how we’re doing and how she behaves. Thank God, we don’t feel much difference from our son at that age, and every child makes troubles as well as has the ability to make their parents happy. And she is fiercely fighting with her brother for a place on Mum’s or Dad’s lap. 🙂 Pray that, as Karola grows, God heals all the scars of the past we are not aware of, and that they won’t bother her in the future.

Our son Rasmus goes to an Estonian school this year. We as parents were a bit concerned that it would be hard for him, but it was clear in the first few days that he found his feet very well. His grades are the highest, and subjects are taught from a slightly different point of view helping to get a deeper insight. Pray that Rasmus is able to accept the big changes related to the new school and his little sister. Everything seems well, but we don’t want any psychological trauma in this regard.

As for Evelyn, winter definitely isn’t her favorite season, and it affects her overall mood. It’s hitting quite hard. She had several ideas she wanted to realize during this sabbatical year, but many of them are put aside due to our current living and family conditions. Pray that Evelyn can find time and resources for photography courses and also for chances to attend cultural events that give her joy and energy.

I (Kaspars) would like to thank you for the positive response to the previous letter. Some of you said that it takes a special courage to admit one’s being depressed and burned out, and to take radical steps toward recovering. I can say there’s a bit of improvement. It pleases me very much, but there is still a long way to go. I pray and think a lot about how to recover true joy and passion, and what should be done to not come back again to where I am now. Keep praying for me to get rid of depression and burnout. I do everything within my power to achieve this.

I would like to mention another prayer need. It’s about our car. Nothing is eternal on this earth, and nearly 400,000 km on the car odometer is not a little thing. We’ve used it for our ministry almost every day. For the last half a year, we have invested a significant amount of money every month to keep our car going. For such a run, there is no guarantee that, as soon as you have fixed one problem, a new one doesn’t appear. It would be good not to be stranded on the road unexpectedly again. Please, let us know if you are willing to support this Project financially.

If any questions appear concerning what I have written above, please ask. We will be glad to answer.

Thank you for being with us; it means a lot to us.
God bless you abundantly, guide you and give you peace!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
