We are still full-time in mission work 😉 Actually couple of weeks in March we spent in zombie status and reason what made us to get there is shared in the beginning of the 
letter. Later our present and future will be shared also. So this time our newsletter is a bit longer and full of information.
Past – International Christian Social Project Smiltene 2011
There were humanitarian/evangelical project taking place in Smiltene, Latvia from 27th of February till 6th of March. Similar projects organized by YWAM Stockholm and YWAM Latvia have been taken the place already over ten years. For me (Evelyn) it was 5th time to be in this project leadership team and I was responsible for administration. My task during preparation was to be registrar and communicator for Latvians. During project me and my team was busy with making 44 teams from 201 people (and around 20 local 
Christians) and sending them out to Smiltene and to other 8 regions.
First days were spent in preparation – intercession time, making food bags and unloading humanitarian aid. During next days we divided into small teams to visit Smiltene and different regions and to organize different programs. With the help of local social offices we visited 699 needy families and all together gave out 1521 food bags. During this week we gave clothing for 1469 people. 176 children visited our children programs. 80 local youth took part from our youth event. We organized two evangelical events and during these programs 72 people decided to follow Jesus. During our home visits 159 people prayed “sinner prayer”. Saturday evening we organized Christian concert. 352 people took part from all our evening events. Kaspars led program for people with disabilities and lot of people came for this event. Usually it is specified for people with mobile disabilities, but for our great surprise we found that 49 people came and most of them were elderly people. We did not change our program and we believe that all these “wrong” people were sent by God. This year we had really good contact with local church. Week after our project finished, local church was organizing follow-up Alfa supper for new Christians. 58 people joined for meal and 75% of those people were non-church goers. 12 youth and 17 adults signed up for the Alpha course whilst at the Alpha Supper. From first session of the Alpha Course took part 22 (non-church) guests plus 24 church members. It means we had really positive reasons to be in zombie status for two weeks after this intensive project finished 😉
My mom and Rasmus were also in Smiltene during this week and helped us with background work – mom for taking care of Rasmus and Rasmus for growing out of his clothes 😉
Present – Wings for Wheels, school, Rasmus
After mission project we are back in our every day life. Kaspars’ physiotherapy studies have reached to last semester. At the moment he has his last sport education session, but most of this semester he is spending in hospital and practising physiotherapy skills. He will have last exams in the end of May and will graduate 18th of June. Kaspar also continues with physiotherapy evangelism and offers massages. After short break in winter we are again starting up disability awareness trips to churches. We are planning to have our 4th “Challenge” – summer camp for people with mobile disabilities – happening in July 2-9 in Raiskums boarding school. Preparations for this have already started. Rasmus is helping us with everything. He also goes to “third form” in baby-school and enjoys music, sport and handcraft. For our great surprise he has learnt already all letters from his first name and even some more.
Future – school will finish, we can do some schooling!!
Kaspar physiotherapy studies will finish during this spring and there are still some years before Rasmus will start his school. So, we will have some time to educate ourselves in mission work.
I (Evelyn) have spoken already earlier that one closed communistic Asia country has been in my heart almost 12 years. Because this letter is open one, I do not want to write this country name here, but if you are interested then ask me in private letter and you will get answer. There will be seminar held in YWAM Sweden August 27th to September 9th. Seminar will focus for this Asian country and possibilities for mission work there. All three of us are planning to go to Sweden that I can be part of seminar and to understand what plans God has for this country and how I am involved in His plans.
At 2007 Wings for Wheels – ministry for people with mobile disabilities – started, but because of Kaspars’ studies and lack of full-time helpers, we are still in pioneering stage. Now school is going to finish and some people have shown interest to come to Latvia to help us. It means we are in need to get some schooling in area of leadership in mission. Regular YWAM school/course is 3-5 month long and is too long to participate with Rasmus. Our YWAM leader found out that there will be held three-week long seminar called: Strategic Leadership Course – principles of pioneering and developing a multi-faceted city ministry. That will be coming November in Spain, Malaga. Course is interesting and would be really useful for us. Even my mother has given 
theoretical agreement that she would be able to come with us and help to take care of Rasmus. Our only challenge is finances (or actually lack of finances). Course itself are not too expensive, but airfares from Riga to Malaga are surprisingly expensive. We have decided to search for treasure pot 😉 during our summer vacation at Hiiumaa, Estonia, but maybe there are some other possibilities?! Oleme ikka elus ja misjonitöös, kuigi viimased poolteist-kaks nädalat olime peale misjoni/humanitaarabi projekti lõppemist zombi staatuses. Õnneks ei ole meie igapäevane elu nii intensiivne kui oli see projekt. Kirja alguses räägin minevikust ja zombi olemise põhjustest ning hiljem ka olevikust ja tulevikust. Seega on see uudistekiri väga laiahõlmaline ja tavalisest pikem.
Minevik – Rahvusvaheline Kristlik Sotsiaalprojekt Smiltene 2011
27. veebruarist 6. märtsini toimus Lätis Valga lähedal olevas Smiltenesi linnas Läti ja Stockholmi Noorte Missiooni poolt organiseeritud iga-aastane humanitaarabi- ja evangelisatsiooniprojekt. Nagu juba neli eelmist aastat, oli ka seekord minu tööks lätlastest osalejate registreerimine ja kommunikatsioon. Smiltenesis juhatasin koos oma tiimiga inimressursside kasutamist (olen ju ilusa väljendi välja mõelnud 😉 ). See tähendab, et mina ja mu tiim moodustasime 201 osalejast ja umbes 20 kohalikust kristlasest 44 gruppi, keda me saatsime välja Smiltenessi ja selle kaheksasse valda.
Nädala esimesed päevad kulusid ettevalmistusele – palvele, toidupakkide tegemisele ja humanitaarabi maha laadimisele. Järgnevatel päevadel jagunesime Smiltenesi, erinevate valdade ja programmide läbi viimiseks gruppidesse ning külastasime 699 puudust kannatavate perede kodu ning andsime kohalike sotsiaalabi osakondade nimekirjade alusel välja 1521 toidupakki. Samal ajal jagasime Smiltenesi kultuurimajas riideid ja jalanõusid 1469-le inimesele. 176 last külastasid kolme päeva jooksul lasteprogramme. 80 kohalikku noort osalesid meie noorteprogrammis. Kahel õhtul läbiviidud evangeelsete koosolekute ajal läks ette „patuse palvet“ lugema 72 inimest ning kodukülastuste ajal andsid oma elu Jumalale veel 159 inimest. Laupäeva õhtul korraldasime tasuta kristliku kontserdi ning kokku osales meie õhtustel koosolekutel 352 inimest. Sel aastal oli väga aktiivne osavõtt ka Kaspari organiseeritud puuetega inimeste programmist ning meie suureks üllatuseks oli kohal 49 inimest. Tavaliselt on see programm mõeldud spetsiifiliselt liikumispuuetega inimestele, aga kuna väikeses kohas liiguvad kuulujutud kiiresti, siis tulid kohale suuremalt jaolt vanemad inimesed. Me ei muutnud oma programmi ning usume, et kõik need „valed“ inimesed olid Jumala poolt saadetud. Sel aastal oli meil väga hea koostöö kohalike kristlastega ning nädal hiljem korraldas kohalik kogudus uutele kristlastele Alfa kursuse õhtusöögi. Õhtusöögile tuli 58 inimest, kelledest 75% ei külasta mitte ühtegi kogudust. 12 noort ja 17 täiskasvanut registreerisid end algavale Alfa kursusele. Seega oli meil väga positiivne kogemus, mis viis meid zombi staatusesse.
Minu ema ja Rasmus olid samuti Smiltenesis terve selle nädala ja aitasid kaasa taustajõuna – ema Rasmuse eest hoolitsedes ja Rasmus kiiresti riietest välja kasvades ;-).

Peale misjoniprojekti oleme tagasi oma igapäevases elus. Kasparil on käsil füsioteraapia õpingute viimane semester ning suurema osa oma päevast veedab ta nüüd haiglas praktiseerides. Sellele lisaks jätkab ta füsioteraapia evangelismi ning teeb võimaluse korral ka masaaze. Talvel halbade teeolude tõttu peatunud puuetega inimeste teadvustamine kirikutes, algab jälle märtsi lõpus. Juba neljandat aastat plaanime korraldada „Challenge 4“ (väljakutse) laagri liikumispuuetega inimestele. Sel aastal toimub see 2-9 juulini Raiskuma internaatkoolis (Cesise lähedal). Laagri ettevalmistused on juba alanud. Rasmus aitab meid kõiges ning sellele lisaks käib beebikooli kolmandas „klassis“ ning naudib muusikat, sporti ja käsitööd. Meie ja paljude teiste suureks üllatuseks tunneb ta juba kõiki oma nime tähti ja sellele lisaks veel mõnda.
Tulevik – kool saab läbi, seega saame kooli minna!
Kuna Kaspari õpingud lõppevad 18. juunil ning Rasmuse kooli alguseni on veel mõned head aastad aega, siis on meil võimalus end koos perega harida misjonitöös.
Olen kunagi varem juba maininud, et pea 12 aastat on minu südames olnud üks Aasias asuv kristlasi tagakiusav kommunistlik riik, kuhu ei ole väga lihtne ka turistina reisida. Kuna see kiri on avalik, siis ei taha selle riigi nime otseselt välja kirjutada. Aga isiklikele kirjadele vastan selle riigi kohta küll. 27. augustist 9. septembrini toimub selle riigi ja misjonivõimaluste kohta seminar Rootsi Noorte Missiooni keskuses Restenäsis. Plaanime sel ajal kogu perega Rootsi minna, et mina saaksin seminaril osaleda ning mõista täpsemalt, mida Jumalal on selle riigi ja minuga seoses plaanis.
Wings for Wheels sai alguse 2007 aastal, kuid õpingute ja inimressursside puuduse tõttu oleme ikka veel selle töö algusjärgus. Tänu Kaspari õpingute lõpule ja mõne inimese huvile tulla meile täisajaliselt appi, oleks meil vaja saada koolitust misjonitöö juhtimise vallas. Kuna kolme kuni viie kuuline tavaline Noorte Missiooni kursus oleks koos Rasmusega liiga pikk aeg, siis leidis Riia NM-i juht meile novembriks kolme nädalase kursuse Hispaanias Malagas (kõlab nagu Havail, eks ole 😉 ). Nimeks on sellel seminaril Strategic Leadership Course – principles of pioneering and developing a multi-faceted city ministry (eesti keeles midagi sarnast nagu: Strateegiline juhtimise kursus – printsiibid kuidas alustada ja arendada misjonitööd suurlinna tingimustes). Kursus on huvitav ja oleks meile väga vajalik ning selleks kolmeks nädalaks on meil teoreetiliselt olemas ka mu ema nõusolek Rasmuse hoidjana kaasa tulla, ainsaks suureks väljakutseks on meie finantsiline võimekus (või siis võimetus). Kursus ise ei ole kallis, aga lend neljale Malagale ja tagasi suhteliselt kallis. Oleme seadnud endale sihiks otsida suvel Hiiumaalt rahapada, 😉 aga äkki on olemas ka muid võimalusi?!
