Shocked

It has been really hard week for us.

Last Saturday in Estonia got killed in car crash Tarmo Vardja, Christian musician. We didn’t know him personally, but “Robirohi”- Christian bluegrass band, where he played violin – is our both favourite Estonian band. As well as being an integral part of Robirohi for the past decade, he was a violinist with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra.

Last Sunday YWAM Denver (Arvada) Colorado centre experienced a tragedy as two YWAM Denver staff members died at the hands of a lone gunman who entered one of their campus buildings. Two other staff got wounded and one of them is still at a local Denver hospital. Following the shooting in YWAM Denver, he fled to Colorado Springs where he opened fire at New Life Church, killing 2 others before being shot by a security guard what made him to kill himself. Late came out that killer was briefly a student at the YWAM Arvada training centre in 2002. He was enrolled in a Discipleship Training School (DTS) but did not complete the program. He was grown up in Christian home, but came out that he felt rejected in Christianity. We didn’t know any of his victims, but it was attack against our organisation and we know people who know people in YWAM Denver. More information here.

Last Monday morning YWAM Latvia national leader, Maris Dzelzs, passed away unexpectedly of heart attack. He was just 48 years old. It is hard to find words to write about him. Official information is here. Please pray for us, YWAM Latvia staff, and for his family. It is really hard time.
