Autumn in Riga

Hello,

This newsletter comes a bit late due to many unexpected last moment changes. I hope you and your family are well in this restless time. You are in our prayers.

For Wings for Wheels (W4W), this Covid time has been unstable, and it is hard to plan events, meetings and some other evangelistic activities due to government restrictions and the whole atmosphere around that. But on the bright side – ministry is still happening in full mode as much as possible.

A month ago I became physiotherapist and assistant for a young man. We meet in the mornings 4 times a week. He really needs both a physiotherapist and an assistant because of severe physical disability. For 2 months, his family was looking for someone who can help, but no-one showed up. I am happy to minister, but he is not an easy case, neither physically nor spiritually, as he has no interest in God at all.

We had in our plans to have an evangelical event at the Latvian National Library’s restaurant as we do every year, but none of us felt peace when it came to organizing the event, due to the Covid situation. I think we will still do it, but maybe in the spring, when everything will hopefully be more peaceful.

Zoom small group is fully on, and it is possible to gather also for those people who could not be around when meetings were not distanced.

Same applies for our online magazine and podcast where people do not need to be physically present to receive information. Through this, we can reach those whom we have met only once, who live very far from us, or whom we do not know at all.

I am very happy to announce that I have successfully passed the physiotherapy exam that I have to take every 5 years and have therefore not lost my qualification. And yes – we did celebrate that with cake 🙂

The next day, my wife Evelyn graduated from a photography course. In my opinion, that was more like a school with endless homework – to take perfect photos with perfect editing. Now she can be and is a photographer whom I can highly recommend. You can see some of her works here.

About us personally – Rasmus (our son) goes to school, but it is hard to know how long it will last, because he can be sent home for distance learning at any moment. Karola and Rebeka are going to kindergarten. They said that they would also like to wear masks when they grow up and enter kindergarten. I said that I really hope they will not need to 🙂

Please pray for:
• protection for our family against any viruses;
• open heart to tell about God to that young man;
• wisdom for how to continue and reach out to people during this Covid time;
• financial situation for W4W (due to the Covid situation, we are not able to cover monthly fees) and for us personally.

Thank you for staying with us as supporters and we appreciate your prayers. You are very dear to us!

May God bless and protect you and give you peace!
Kaspars
with Evelyn, Rasmus, Karola and Rebeka
