Dreams Come True

Greetings from snowy Riga,

We have just gone through dark times in Latvia (literally and in weather wise) and at last reached the advent season. We would like to share our news from mission field before all of us are busy with Christmas preparations.

Wings for WheelsW4W Rundale
Autumns are peaceful time for W4W team. This year only difference is that our team with four members (+Rasmus) is grown for six and half members. Ruzanna from Uzbekistan joined us and started to work among Russian speaking people with mobile disabilities. At the moment Ruzanna is in Russia and waiting Latvian resident permit. Other two members are Latvians – Janis and Katrina. It is great to see how Wings for Wheels vision is spreading out and we are able to reach more people. We have started to organize next year camps. Yes, there will be two camps next summer. We will continue with “Challenge” camps, seventh in row, and will also start camp called “Morning´s Dew”. At the moment we are planning to have “Challenge” camp in the middle of July. It will be similar for camps we have organized, but it cannot grow bigger as 70 people. “Morning´s Dew” camp is meant for Christians who would like to get closer to God and spend four days seeking Him together with other Christians. It is planned to be in the end of June or in the beginning of July with not so many participants. We will see how it will come out at first and then will decide to make it longer or keep it to be same length in future.
Vilnius
Lithuania
W4W had peaceful autumn, but our family was busy with travelling. In the beginning of September all three of us travelled to Vilnius in Lithuania. We met our old friend there and spent nice weekend together. If you know Evelyn before she came to Latvia, then you may know that actually she planned to go to the Lithuania as missionary. It did not happen, but Lithuania has been always in her heart and she was really happy to renew the love for Lithuania. YWAM Riga has taken year to ptay for Lithuania and our trip was good start of it.

ArmeniaArmenia
In the end of September Kaspar spent one week in Armenia. He was together with Norwegian team and among other things, was visiting Mountainous Karabakh (unrecognized state between Armenia and Azerbaijan) and Christian rehabilitation centre for people with disabilities there.

Korea
We have written many times that we wanted to have anniversary/vacation trip and now we can say that we have done it. Korea is really beautiful and our week there was breathe taking. We have some amazing friends who worked really hard to fulfill our dreams and beyond of it. For example we had never spent a night in hotel (this one what has stars on it :-)), but now thank for anonym sponsors we spent all week in fancy hotels and in an apartment with view worth of million. These were clearly beyond our dreams. During this short time we were able to do a lot and also spend some time with our friends. We visited Tower of Seoul, castle, went to K-pop concert, visited world biggest shopping centre, went to service in the world biggest congregation (yes, we heard Pastor Yonggi Cho preaching). Most of Koreathe time we spent in Seoul, but we had also time to go 400km south of Seoul and spend two days in amazing Busan. We did not get tired to see and hear the ocean and felt as home there. Actually Evelyn felt all the time that she has arrived home – her language skills need to be improved still. Busan was the place Evelyn supposed to be at summer 2000 and to spend three weeks in OM mission team. Now, 13 years later, she was there and said that it was worth waiting for. Similar for Moses, she also was up on mountain and turned her eyes for the Promised Land. Difference with Moses is this, that Evelyn is hoping to get there one day. It is really hard to write shortly of everything we saw and experience there. If you would like to hear more details, please ask us and we will be very happy to share more. Some photos (actually many 🙂 ) are out in Internet and you can see these here. Only problem with trip to Korea was, that now we would like to return to this country and experience it more 🙂

Please pray for:
financial support for Wings for Wheels co-workers – We are not able to pay salary for them even that they have earned it greatly;
Ruzanna, that she would be able to get Latvian resident permit and joined us again very soon;
summer camps – organizing and finances;
– good transport vehicle for our family and ministry;
Evelyn, who did decision to join again Mercy ministry outreach (February 23 – March 2, 2014 in Jelgava). It is really challenging work for her and this year she almoust reached the breaking point. Please pray that she would find good helpers and that God would give her energy and peaceful mind.

Blessings,
Evelyn, Kaspars and Rasmus
