Greetings from Riga,
At last spring is here! Flowers are blooming; trees and grass are green… During this summer and autumn we will have three projects happening and you are welcome to join in!
Summer camp „Challenge 6“
For Wings for Wheels spring is the preparation time for the summer „Challenge 6“ camp. This year it will take place July 6.-13. in Raiskums, near Cesis. At the moment we have over 70 people in the list who will come to the camp. Half of them have mobile disability and other half are their assistants and camp personal. We will have a lot of new people joining us this year. We are even more international as usually because participants from Ukraine and Belarus and staff from Estonia, Norway and maybe from Canada will join us. Program for the camp is set, participants are eager to come, and Wings for Wheels is ready to organize the sixth “Challenge” camp. We have done everything to prepare interesting week for participants during what they have possibility to get to know God, find new friends and learn new skills. We are praying that God would hand-pick every participant and personal and none of them would go back home without meeting the God. We have great example from last year, how God is picking the right people for the right time. We asked a man from our Riga church to come to the camp as Russian translator and we asked a girl from Valmiera (1,5h drive from Riga) to come to volunteer as an assistant. They did not know each other before, but got to know each other during the camp and got married May 4th, 2013. We had an honour to be their witness couple in their wedding. We are not expecting that every year something similar happens, but every camp brings new challenges and new way to overcome these. For us finances and fundraising is and has always been the biggest challenge. Challenge camp is growing every year and so also amount of finances we need. Car
We have Opel Astra what we bought at 2007 with the help of our friends. All these six years this car has served us and for our ministry well and did not need an expensive fixing. This year we are in situation where we need to choose between two options: will we put a lot of money into this 14 years old car and giving new life for it or will we sell this car and buy newer. Car is big part of our mission work and without it we are not able to make some of our projects happen. Would you like to help us financially to fix our car or to buy newer? Again, it is not important how small the sum is, because God can bless the “five breads and two fish”.
Holiday trip
April 5th we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. At October we plan to take time off for the week and go to the Korea. Over the year we have been collecting money for this trip and it seems we will have enough for tickets. Would you like to partner us and help it to make really special?
Rasmus
I am already a big boy. I like to play with „Lego“ blocks and to build cars. I have a friend – Little Rasmus. Mommy and daddy do not see him, but we have great time to play together. Sometimes he makes troubles. I have friends also in the kindergarten and in the church and they are visible for my mommy and daddy, too. I will have birthday soon. I will be 4 years old. Before birthday we will go to the camp.
How you would like to join the mission work? If you are not able to support the projects financially, would you be ready to pray for these?
Write for us for more information!
Blessings,
Evelyn, Kaspars and Rasmus
