Association \u201cWings for Wheels\u201d this year on August 5<\/strong>, organized an event called \u201cTreasure Island\u201d<\/strong>. Such a name was not chosen by chance, but in direct connection with the location, which was Dole Island, and also the topic of the day was \u2018What are our treasures?\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n We had a total of 30 participant<\/strong>s from different parts of Latvia. In the morning, there was a lecture<\/strong> about how big treasure is Jesus in our lives and how to protect the precious gift of salvation. After lunch, we went on an excursion<\/strong>, where we learned the ancient history of Dole Island and how people lived long time ago.<\/p>\n In the afternoon, we enjoyed relaxed atmosphere with interesting conversations<\/strong>, meeting people we had not seen for a long time, and simply enjoying the beautiful nature by the Daugava, Latvia\u2019s largest river. Seeing people\u2019s openness and interest, we formed a small group<\/strong> to discuss the things we had heard and listen to the testimonies of what God has done.<\/p>\n After dinner, hiding under the roof from the gently warm sprinkling rain, we watched the lit bonfire<\/strong> outside. It gave a special atmosphere to listen to the evening lecture<\/strong> as a challenge and a reminder, what are our real treasures for each day and how not to lose our greatest treasure \u2013 Jesus.<\/p>\n The purpose of the gathering was to meet people whom we had not seen for a long time, to meet our Bible online group and to make new friends who could be ministered and help them discover and understand what is the greatest treasure of life \u2013 Jesus.<\/p>\n Thanks to everyone who was involved in the implementation of this event!<\/p>\n May God richly bless you!<\/p>\n
