Hello,<\/p>\n

Greetings from Riga! <\/strong><\/p>\n

We had a beautiful warm summer. We enjoyed most of it on Hiiumaa, Estonia. This holiday was most needed. In Estonia, the Covid restrictions were lighter, and we were able to visit events and church, and even do it mask free. It was the first time in many years that we experienced a culture shock, because life is very different here in Latvia. <\/p>\n

Now we are back in Riga, and we have started our last year full-time ministry here. Same time next year we will hopefully live full time on Hiiumaa. Lots of things are going to change during the next season, but we are letting you know step-by-step when it is happening. <\/p>\n

Wings for Wheels<\/strong> <\/strong> <\/p>\n

The W4W team have started to meet for staff meetings<\/strong> this autumn. \"\"It is weird to say that we really enjoy fellowship and making plans, but we have not met regularly face-to-face for the last 14 months. What a treat! \ud83d\ude42 Sadly, all the events that we are planning can only be done online if we want to accept all people with or without certificates. <\/p>\n

This year, our banquet<\/strong> will not happen (in December). First, it is difficult to follow all the epidemiological guidelines. But in addition to that, the restaurant where we usually meet and that is fully accessible for people in wheelchairs, is not open due to the Covid restrictions. We also have no idea if and how our summer camp<\/strong> will happen. <\/p>\n

But this autumn, we have already started small group meetings<\/strong> (on the Zoom platform) and care home visits<\/strong> (in person). We continue making a podcast<\/strong> and publishing an online magazine<\/strong> (both sadly only in Latvian). Kaspar continues physiotherapy evangelism<\/strong> and Santa is continuing social consultations<\/strong> and representing Wings for Wheels in politics and among other NGOs. We also hope to have an online seminar and\/or fellowship meeting(s)<\/strong> during this season.<\/p>\n

Personal life<\/strong> \"\"<\/p>\n

Biggest news for us is that Rasmus<\/strong> (12) can go to school (not sit in his room with a computer) and Karola<\/strong> (5), Rebeka<\/strong> (3) are in kindergarten, and both are enjoying it. <\/p>\n

As we are finishing slowly some of our responsibilities, we are also trying to put aside as much finances<\/strong> as possible. It is not very easy if you are a missionary. But we try as much as possible. Kaspar is having some side projects, and I (Evelyn) hope to also earn something, but it has not been very successful yet.<\/p>\n

Our future home<\/strong> is still in the same condition as before \u2013 meaning that we do not have it \ud83d\ude42 At the moment there is only one house on Hiiumaa that is perfect for us, but we need a miracle to get it. First, of course, we do not have enough finances, and the bank is not giving credit to people who have not worked with a contract for at least 6 months. Second, our dream house has more conditions that are not so easy to overcome. Please pray that the miracle would happen, and we would get our first home. If it is in God will, this house will become available for us, or we would find an even better-fitted home for us. There is a great opportunity to attend a massage course<\/strong> supported by the Latvian ministry of Education. That enables me (Kaspars) to work privately and gives a lifelong licence to work as a masseuse all around Europe. It is much more complicated to keep my physiotherapy certificate up to date. The course lasts 3 months, starts at the end of September, and costs 390 euro. It is a great investment into our future as it will help me earn money, but also to continue as the Wings for Wheels leader. <\/p>\n

We are very thankful for every supporter<\/strong> that God has given to us, and they are very precious. Due to the pandemic, I (Kaspars) can find some spare time to earn some extra money to fulfil our financial gaps.
